Taking a HARD look at the Business of Politics

Dodd, the Leader we need

I wrote a few days back about the incredible intestinal fortitude and awesome leadership shown by Chris Dodd, who took a day out of his Campaigning in Iowa (which he could ill afford) so he could do the right thing in Congress, his “day job” for which he was elected and is paid. He stood up against the telecomm immunity amendment to the FISA bill, stood up against Reid, and talked some influential Senators into standing up with him. Dodd was all ready to filibuster into Christmas if he had to. Dodd stood up for our Constitution and the Rule of Law.

Who paid lip service to supporting Dodd, without actually leaving the Campaign trail to do so? ALL of the other Democratic candidates. And even the lip service was weak.

Regardless of where Dodd stands on the issues (and, truthfully, I don’t agree with all his positions) there is one thing he has done that everyone, no matter what party you call your own, needs to look at. Dodd stood up for the Constitution and the Rule of Law. That’s been a rare thing over the last 8 or so years. Dodd stood up against the corrupt regime currently in the White House. And won. And that is the first win against Bush since the Dems took control of Congress.

This bitchslapper is endorsing Dodd for President. We need a real leader to take the helm. Dodd has shown that he can be that leader.

I’ve also done something I’ve never done before. I made a Dodd Campaign Donation. And I have to tell you, that is something I never thought I would do, since no politician running in any election I would vote in has ever inspired me to do so. That says a lot right there.
