Republican Election Losses and Iraq War Funding

If ever the Dems had a chance to do what they promised us when we all elected them into the majority, the time is now. If they don’t vote down another $163 Billion for Iraq today, they will have broken (again) every promise they made to us, and at a time when they have THE BEST chance of getting it passed. An article in the NYTimes today about how recent losses in special congressional contests have Republicans FINALLY turning their backs on Bush at the behest of senior Republicans and even the Republican National Committee, suggest that now is the time and gives the Dems the best shot at getting this finally done. Now. When we so desperately need the dough to go to other, more sensible and domestic things that might actually do us and our own economy good, instead of lining the pockets of Blackwater and Haliburton and other War profiteers.

Why do I think they’re gonna blow it again? *sigh*

The Commander in Chief says:

I always jest to people, the Oval Office is the kind of place where people stand outside, they're getting ready to come in and tell me what for, and they walk in and get overwhelmed in the atmosphere, and they say, man, you're looking pretty.
