A BackSlap to Coldwater Creek for going with Wind-Energy!
I’m a Coldwater Creek clothing junkie. And I adore their catalogs, though I really only shop online - just getting their catalogs (mostly the late summer through winter ones - I only like fall and winter clothes and seasons) is enough to let me sit happily doing something besides designing websites for an hour while I look through them page by page, drooling over the yummy new items (kinda like what happens with Levenger, too….)
So in the latest catalog, there’s as usual a discount card, but there’s another card too with a message from Dennis Pence, Coldwater Creeks’s founder. I quote:
“I’m pleased to tell you that effective August 1, 2006, 100% of Coldwater Creek’s U.S. facilities are being powered through the purchase of renewable wind energy certificates. This commitment is significant and reflects our sense of urgency in addressing the realities of climate change - immediately and on a large scale.”
He ends with:
“It’s our sincere hope that other companies will join us in adding leadership and commitment to initiatives which focus on the use of clean, renewable energy.
“In our view, it is simply the right thing to do. And the right time to do it.”
