Censure
I swear I’m surprised the world hasn’t spun off its axis this week due to the incredible amount of unbalanced and utterly amazing spin coming out of Washington, the media, and the net on this MoveOn Ad thing.
And after reading all the different commentaries, blogposts, and such that came out of this, I’m amazed at the way everyone’s shorts got in a twist over this, and wonder if maybe somehow the Prozac deliveries to the Washington DC area were mistakenly diverted for the last month.
You’re all freaking nuts.
For the record, I thought the ad was a bit over the top, maybe even tasteless, but I checked the facts contained in it and they were spot on. Not that anyone is paying much attention.
One thing that really irks me. The Dems who voted to condemn the MoveOn ad . . . they bought into the Republicans stripping away more of our rights as US citizens, namely the right to dissent and to free speech. Funny how little that was mentioned in all this mudslinging.
And the Republicans have managed to distract all of us from the main issue once again– which is, after all, STOPPING this illegal and immoral war they started to fatten corporate pockets.
Bottom line is that this Censure is a dangerous thing. It’s stepping toe over the line into Fascism.
