Impeach Bush NOW
Over the last couple days, after attending the Step It Up Rally for Climate Change in Bethlehem PA on Saturday, I’ve really been doing a lot of thinking about the damage that’s been done by the Bush Administration. I started thinking about how he’s gutted the Environmental Protection Agency and its regulations, and how the Federal Courts did right in slapping him down.
I also had a great conversation with two young guys who were manning one of the booths at the rally to let people know about the Impeach Party on April 28th at the Rose Garden Pavilion on Cedar Beach in Allentown PA.
We talked about how much more harm Bush has done to the country, and how it is that Clinton, who was generally an effective, if not perfect, President, could go through impeachment proceedings for what amounted to a personal indiscretion, as opposed to Bush, who has raped, pillaged and gutted our Constitution, started a war of aggression based on Lies for nothing more than fattening the pockets of his corporate pals and revving up the wartime economy (at the expense of the peacetime one), sanctioned the use of torture, illegally wiretapped citizen phones and other communication, detained people without due process, and, it now looks like, flaunted his so called executive privilege to hide his repeated breaking of the highest laws of our land. Bush will be held accountable. I just hope it’s here on Earth and soon.
The comparison to Nixon and Watergate keeps coming up, though Bush has done much worse than Nixon ever did. But Nixon WAS impeached. What’s it gonna take to de-teflon Bush and Cheney?
This DOJ scandal is the final straw, and the buck shouldn’t stop at Gonzales’ desk. It’s time that we go for the gusto instead of settling for the fall guy.
It’s time we let Congress know how We The People feel about Bush’s Crimes Against Humanity. It’s time to Impeach Bush.
