Taking a HARD look at the Business of Politics

The Plog Politicians love to hate.

Santorum and the Stink of Corruption

It absolutely amazes me that in my working class town in PA I see Santorum signs all over the place. Don’t these people read the news? Santorum doesn’t even live in PA and he thinks he can represent us in the Senate? Not only that but he’s been tied to Delay, to Abramoff, and he’s said some of the stupidest things to come out of any politician’s mouth, beaten only by the idiot in the oval office. He’s a raging Homophobe, who’d jail homosexuals if given the opportunity.

Here’s one of Santorum’s more notable bloopers, where he offended damn near everyone in the City of Boston when talking about Homosexuality and the scandal among the Catholic Priesthood:

It is startling that those in the media and academia appear most disturbed by this aberrant behavior, since they have zealously promoted moral relativism by sanctioning “private” moral matters such as alternative lifestyles. Priests, like all of us, are affected by culture. When the culture is sick, every element in it becomes infected. While it is no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm.

Even more amazing, Santorum on Hurricane Katrina Victims who didn’t evacuate, no matter the reason:

I mean people who don’t heed those warnings and then put people at risk as a result of not heeding those warnings … There may be a need to look at tougher penalties on those who decide to ride it out and understand that there are consequences to not leaving.

And who is financing Santorum? Big Oil, Big Media, Big Power and Big Money. He’s waffled on Net Neutrality, though I strongly suspect those Comcast Bucks have bought certain guarantees.

There’s been so much corruption around Santorum but to hear him talk he knows nothing about any of it, and speaks as if he’s the Chosen of God: “As a Catholic U.S. Senator, I am proud to see the Church, often alone, take one courageous stand after another on the great moral issues of the day: abortion, cloning, third world debt relief, AIDS and the breakdown of the family to name a few.” He at one point tried to disavow knowledge of the K Street Project run by Delay, where he spent many Tuesdays, and which brought him in contact with Jack Abramoff.

And that’s not even bringing up the Weather Service scandal, the questions about Santorum’s personal finances, or other irregularities in his campaign financing.

PA Voters, I don’t care if you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or whatever, we cannot allow this man, Santorum, to stay in office. Santorum is an embarassment.
