SLC mayor Rocky Anderson calls for Bush/Cheyney impeachment

Again, I’ve not in the past been over-thrilled with Rocky Anderson. He’s mostly a “little too out there” among other things.

But this time, I think he’s right with calling for the impeachment of Bush and Cheyney - regardless that Dick Cheyney’s rather a “Mr. Bumba” of a VP, relatively harmless (unless he’s pointing a shotgun your way of course).

4 Slaps to SLC mayor Rocky Anderson calls for Bush/Cheyney impeachment

  1. bj Says:

I don’t think Cheney is harmless at all. I think he’s helped cause possibly irreparable harm to the US. And I agree that impeachment should proceed.

The thoughts that ran through my mind when seeing the headlines on the recent bombing in Afghanistan that occurred while Cheney was on the Base (and before I had the details on it being a suicide bomber)–

    1) Hmm, who did it? American person or other?

    2) Wonder if Mr. Cheney’s gunshot victim and other family members have an alibi.

    3) Wish Bomber didn’t miss. Oh, wait, that would give Bush the PERFECT excuse to nuke the whole area, which that trigger happy asshole would do in a New York Minute.

  2. Vc Says:

Well, I stop short of wishing bomber hadn’t missed - I’m just not into that sort of thing. But I do heartily wish Rocky well with his endeavor.

Do I think it’s likely to succeed? No. But I wish it would.

  3. bj Says:

What amazes me is that lying about a blowjob results in impeachment, but breaking the law doesn’t. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with that, no matter what your feelings are about Clinton.

  4. Vc Says:

Oh, I fully agree. I always did think that impeachment was a stupid thing as regards the Clinton contretemps - but then, this is mid-vic US, remember. Prudes, puritans, and the prurient (well, prudes and puritans are quite frequently “closet prurients”….)

I didn’t like Clinton (I have a real gut-feeling dislike of “pretty Dems”), though he was FAR better with other countries and their rulers than any of the Republicans we’ve had since I don’t even know when - Eisenhower? Of course, Ike had the kind of charisma that some of the “pretty Dems” also exhibited….

But I don’t think Clinton deserved what he got (well, maybe he deserved the opprobrium, but not the political blow-job!) Now, Bush/Cheyney…. yeah, THEY deserve it.
